Nightstands reveal what’s on an author’s mind before dozing off to sleep. Research for his upcoming historical fiction “The Conquest of Liberty” dominates Kent’s attention.

Kent Merrell might be one of the most published, yet least read authors published today. Nearly every baby boomer has the opportunity to read his work. After 40 years of writing and producing advertising mail which totals nearly 400,000,000 pieces mailed, he jokes if all four hundred million read what he so articulately wrote, his clients would be richer than Solomon. Instead, he’s turned his love of words to something much more substantial – fiction—releasing his first historical fiction, “The Blade of Safavid” in 2022.

Fifteen years ago, Kent’s first published book “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” with its limited edition print runs, proved he could combine enough words together to accomplish a work more interesting than “buy-now!” “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” is slated for re-release in the fall of 2023. 

From his speaking success on stages across the country and his focus on leadership, he was invited by hall-of-fame speakers Chad Hymas and Dan Clark to participate in an anthology with twelve other professional speakers. So many of his readers requested sequels for his 2022 fiction, his next book is slated to be a three book series focusing on humanity’s march toward freedom, “The Conquest of Liberty.” Book one will release in the fall of 2023. Book two a few months later. Book three in the series will follow in the spring of 2024. The rapid release of his three new novels came at the recommendation by both editors and readers.

In addition to these full-length novels, Kent writes for several blogs.
